Labor Management Cooperation

The Labor Management Cooperation Committees (LMCC) established by the International Unions and various National Contractor Associations have been developed as a mechanism by which labor-management issues can be examined and solutions found.

One of the main goals of the LMCC is to impress upon both labor and management one fundamental truth–[ha[ we comprise one industry – and as such we must work cooperatively.

Another mission of the LMCC is to promote a positive image for the construction industry. This cooperative relationship also serves to promote unity.

This "united voice" then becomes a more credible source representing both sides interests as an "industry advocate" to outside entities such as consumers, end users, and the general public. The LMCC promotes the image of Union workers and employers as "qualified, certified, and wholly professional."

The LMCC also performs research and planning of industry issues such as: Special skills and training, Manpower, Labor Relations, Apprenticeship, Health and Safety, and Environmental issues.

Our motto, "together everyone accomplishes more". Unions enjoy greater respect and understanding with our management counterparts.
